You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the quality, reliability, and compliance of our hardware solutions. The role requires a strong understanding of hardware engineering principles, testing methodologies, and the ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex hardware systems.
This position requires an individual with experience in verification and validation for hardware designs and familiarity with control system hardware.

Key Responsibilities:
Review and Analysis:
- Review HW documentation such as Requirement Specifications, Design Specifications, Schematics, Bill of Material, Artwork, Wiring and Assembly Diagrams, Logic Drawings, and Graphics, PCB Layout, R&D System Integration Test Plans/Specifications/Results, and R&D HW Component Test Plans/Specifications/Results to ensure accuracy and completeness in compliance with relevant codes, standards, and specifications.
- Perform detailed analysis of test results, identify issues, and work with the development team to implement corrective actions.

Equipment Qualification Testing:
- Conduct Equipment Qualification Testing to ensure hardware testing equipment and tools are accurate, calibrated, and suitable for use.

Verification and Validation Documentation:
- Prepare technical reports, test plans, test procedures, and other documentation related to hardware verification and validation activities, including generating a Requirement Traceability Matrix (RTM).

MTBF Calculation:
- Calculate MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) by reviewing HW component data sheets to determine its category and importing the Bill of Materials (BOM) into reliability analysis software.

Test Setup Development and Maintenance:
- Collaborate with the V&V team and hardware development engineers to define test strategies, plans, and requirements for hardware designs.
- Design and develop test setups and fixtures to evaluate hardware performance, functionality, and compliance with specifications and standards.
- Must have hands-on experience with building, configuring, and maintaining test setups, ensuring they are properly calibrated and functional.
- Conduct various tests on hardware design, including but not limited to functional testing, stress testing, environmental testing, and performance testing.

Standards Familiarity:
- Understanding or experience with IEEE Std 1012 (Standard for Software Verification and Validation).
- Understanding or experience with IEEE Std 1074 (Standard for Developing Software Life Cycle Processes).
- Understanding and experience with EPRI TR-107330 (Electric Power Research Institute Technical Report).
- Familiarity with MIL-STD-461E (Department of Defense Interface Standard - Requirements for the Control of Electromagnetic Interference Characteristics of Subsystems and Equipment) and USNRC RG1.180 (Regulatory Guide 1.180 - Guidance for the Review of Human-System Interfaces and Their Use in the NRC Review Process) standards.
- Familiarity with standards such as IEC 61000-4-2 (Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) - Part 4-2: Testing and measurement techniques - Electrostatic discharge immunity test), IEC 61000-4-4 (Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) - Part 4-4: Testing and measurement techniques - Electrical fast transient/burst immunity test), IEC 61000-4-5 (Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) - Part 4-5: Testing and measurement techniques - Surge immunity test), IEC 61000-4-12 (Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) - Part 4-12: Testing and measurement techniques - Ring wave immunity test), and IEC 62566 (Industrial-process measurement, control, and automation - Evaluation of system properties for the purpose of system assessment).

Additional Skills and Qualifications:
- PCB circuit design experience from concept to production.
- PCB component soldering, basic instrument handling, test circuit build, and electrical wiring are skills that must be possessed.
