HF Controls (HFC) specializes in the design and construction of high reliability control systems for nuclear power, fossil power, and a variety of industrial applications. Based on field proven technology, HFC provides process control systems, advanced enterprise management software, I&C technology, engineering, project management, and field services. 

Technology Evolution

For over 25 years HFC has provided continuing support of its product lines by never obsolescing any of the systems.  In addition, HFC has supplied numerous I&C upgrades and safety protection systems to operating plants in Korea, China, the U.S and India.  HFC supports our installation bases continuously throughout the world. 

The evolution to the advanced HFC-6000 (Microprocessor based and FPGA based) with the use of modern technology provides one platform for nearly the entire enterprise:  control, protection, calculation, analysis, and data acquisition. HFC has the capability to design form-factor replacement components to provide life-extension.

Start from 2005, through 5 years stringent review and auditing process, HFC-6000 Safety Control System gained NRC Safety Evaluation Report certification by April 2011. And HFC-FPGA System of HFC-6000 Safety Platform gained NRC Final Safety Evaluation Report by March 2021. We are the fourth platform vendor who is certified to supply nuclear Class-1E control system to US nuclear utilities. In addition, HFC Safety Control System also received two TÜV SIL-3 certificates from TÜV Rheinland in 2009 and 2013.

Based on sound technological advances, HFC supplies its customers with an array of advanced control hardware, software applications, and support services that offer distributed intelligence and information management for the highest-quality process control. The overall experienced combination of HFC I&C engineering with regulatory guidance and engineering consulting provides our clients with considerable experience in the nuclear utility industry.

HFC is a global company with a long history of various nuclear and non-nuclear I&C system installations around the world.  Sales representatives and engineering service capabilities assure its clients that their production process is controlled and that their needs are met.  HFC participates in many I&C system projects in Asia through its established local offices.  HFC has considerable experience working with the Korea nuclear plant team.  

Quality Management Process

HFC is very proud of its solid Quality Assurance Program. A dedicated Quality department with experienced engineers to control company’s Quality and Verification and Validation (V&V) activities. All the different departments within the company work closely to achieve a goal of higher standards.  The solid Quality Assurance Program enables HFC to provide the highest quality of service to its customers.  The program is designed to provide administrative measures, oversight, and procedures necessary for assuring that all HFC hardware and software products and services meet or exceed customer requirements and applicable industry codes and standards.  

This Quality Program is designed to comply with ANSI/ASME NQA-1 2004; Quality Assurance Requirements for Nuclear Facilities Applications, ANSI/ASME NQA-1 - 2000 Quality Assurance Requirements for Nuclear Facility Applications with Addenda, 10 CFR 50 Appendix B; “Quality Assurance Criteria for Nuclear Power Plants and Fuel Reprocessing Plants”, ISO 9001:2000, and 10CFR Part 21.
